First Glance: smashable McLaren Vale rosé
Acclaim: 91 Points
Classic Shiraz meets not-so-classic Touriga Nacional, the Portuguese VIP grape capable of big depth and oompf when vinified as a Douro Valley redwine. And yes, this McLaren Vale rose has good depth of flavour, soft edges and plenty of red-berry-goodness, but with incredible freshness at just 11.4 ABV. Yum!
Grapes are co-fermented in old oak and the wine sees no aggressive filtering.

Rose made from touriga nacional from McLaren Vale. There’s eight rows here, a recent planting. Pressed to old barrels. Bit of a bargain here.
Fragrant rose, pretty with rose hip tea and rose water scents, a touch of cranberry. Crisp in texture, a juiciness too, cranberry and pomegranate flavours, watermelon granita too. Very easy to like, fruity, fun, fresh, good. Done.
