The Wine:
Single Vineyard Fiano, fruit sourced from ‘Lacey Vineyard’, Branson Road, McLaren Vale grown by the Lacey family. Irrigated vines, on grey brown sandy loam over limestone and ironstone, 26-46m above sea level. Sustainable Winegrowing Australia Certified Vineyard. All of the decisions made in making this wine were to maintain the freshness and purity of both variety and place. Harvested in the cool of the night and gently pressed in the early hours of the morning. The wine underwent a slow and cool fermentation in stainless steel to preserve the aromatics, followed by a month of extended lees contact to enhance texture and mouthfeel before bottling.
Aromas of pear and sherbet. Racy and crunchy primary fruits, Granny Smith apples, cinnamon and fresh lemon zest. A lovely bright entry on the palate with brisk acidity and immediate textural interest.
