MMAD Vineyard Grenache 2022

The Wine
From the second vintage for the MMAD team, the wetter 2022 season was a blessing, it meant excellent soil moisture going into summer, resulting in a flourishing of cover crops - providing necessary nourishment to beneficial bugs. Come Spring, there was perfect flowering, with an average of 24°C and no surprises leading up to harvest. Overall the vintage was hallmarked with low yields and a cool to mild summer providing notable intensity, freshness and depth across the range.

15% wholebunch, combination of concrete and old barrel ferments before elevage in concrete and large format oak. There's some generosity upfront, followed by detailed raspberry coulis and pomegranate notes, along side fennel seed and cumin. Firm grainy tannins frame the wine, tertiary flavours unfurl endlessly in the glass. Lots of cellaring potential here.
