The Wine:
A sweet wine from a hanging-garden vineyard in the Pyrenees foothills. The Dagueneau family, famous for cult Loire Sauvignon Blanc, also tends Les Jardins de Babylone in Jurancon, an amphitheater of Petit Manseng vines whose mountain view reminded Didier of the legendary Hanging Gardens of Babylon. This Demi Sec is an off-dry, richly textured expression: sweetness balanced by the racy acidity that defines great Jurancon. Made in tiny quantities and biodynamically farmed.
