Lamoresca is a small producer in the southern province of Catania, where the hot Mediterranean climate is tempered by 450 metres altitude. Here, Fillipo Rizzo works with indigenous varieties, adhering to minimal-intervention practises in both vineyard and cellar.

Filippo's Bianco is made from Vermentino grapes which received a little skin-contact for two days during fermentation, to add a smidge of texture and spice, then rested in old neutral oak before bottling.

The Review:

(2020 vintage)
Saline, nutty, chamomile and tangerine, or something like that. It’s slightly sour and tangy, with a fine brick dust texture, spicy and salty, but fresh and lively with it. It’s an excellent release, vigorous and zesty. Serve it cool, not cold, or you’ll lose a lot of the goodness.
