Region: Burgundy
Grapes: Chardonnay
First Glance: Mouth filling, Savoury, Mineral, Yellow Fruit
The Wine:
100% barrel fermented, full malo. 10 months in oak barrels (15 to 30% new) and then 2 months in vat, Stirring (bâtonnage) of the lees every 7-10 days.
Pale lemon colour. The nose is attractive, a stylish rather than a blowsy type of Mâcon. Vigorous up front, quite a thick texture, a little bit on the fatter side by the finish. Enjoy in its youth.
The Review:
Wine Spectator
"This white is focused and vivid, with mouthwatering acidity driving flavours of peach, apple, lemon and grapefruit pith. There's fine equilibrium and a tactile feel on the finish, where a hint of oak spice lingers."
