The Wine:
The grapes for this Barolo come from a single vineyard in the Gramolere area of Monforte d'Alba. The vines are on average 35 years old, and the grapes are always only manually harvested due to the steep slopes. These slopes boast south-southwest exposure, and the soil composition is sandy and rich in stones and fossils. The wine is naturally fermented on skins for anywhere between 30 and 40 days, with gentle pump overs to ensure delicate phenolic extraction. After 3 years aging in barrels, and a few months resting in concrete tanks the wine is bottled during a waning moon.
A full and balanced Barolo with intense cherry and raspberry aromas. Warm and supple on the palate, with excellent fine grained tannins and a floral finish.
