Region: Bandol Grapes: Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah First Glance: Savoury, Structured, Dark Fruited, Earthy
The Wine: Located on the Beausset Vieux hillside, at an altitude of 300 meters, La Migoua consists of scattered parcels circled by wild scrubland. An extraordinary geological accident formed very complex soil.
Clusters are hand-selected in the vineyard and in the cellar; de-stemmed, crushed and put into concrete vats for 3 to 4 weeks to ferment naturally with indigenous yeasts. Elevage is for 18 months in large old foudres
The Review: Tom Wolf - Kermit Lynch "In 2021, this cuvée recalls theclassiqueabove, but with everything dialed up a notch. Savory and structured, it evokes Provençalgarrigue, licorice, and a hint of black olive. This bottling is a strong candidate for your cellar but also open enough to pair wonderfully with a ribeye today."
