The Wine:
Close your eyes, take a sip and you’ll swear what’s in your glass hails from a premier cru vineyard in the Cote de Beaune. Winemaker Vincent Dureuil blends older-vine fruit from vineyards in Rully proper for a plush, savory and lively white Burgundy with few peers.
A selection of estate-owned fruit from vineyards ‘La Martelle,’ ‘Chaponnière,’ ‘La Bergerie’ and ‘Le Meix Cadot.’ Soils mix limestone and clay. Many vines were planted by Vincent’s grandfather in 1949.
Hand-harvested, whole bunch pressed then lees settled for 48 hours. Fermented with indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels (20% new, Chassin). Aged in barrel 12 months, then six months in tank. Bottled unfined and unfiltered; all actions follow the lunar calendar.
Aromas of white peaches and citrus zest; chalky notes. Supple and juicy; lemon, quince and white pepper.
