The Wine:
Estate-owned vineyard (lieu-dit ‘La Combe’) located in Puligny-Montrachet, on the plains below the village, facing north. Soils are traditional Burgundian limestone and clay, under loamy top soils. Majority of vines planted in 1953-1965.
Hand-harvested, whole bunch pressed then lees settled for 48 hours. Fermented with indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels (20% new, Chassin). Aged in barrel 12 months, then six months in tank. Bottled unfined and unfiltered; all actions follow the lunar calendar.
Aromas of ripe apricots, white peaches, citrus zest. Medium-bodied yet vivacious, with good acidity; flavors of lemon curd.
