Region: Northern Rhone, France Grapes: Syrah First Glance: Dark Fruited, Elegant, Bright Acclaim: 94pts
The Wine: Deep ruby in the glass, with wisps of blackberry, cassis and violet florals all with a crack of black pepper and a distinct Rhoney smokiness. The palate is full bodied, with velvety tannins and flavours of ripe dark fruit, spices and an earthiness. Firm structure and a long, lingering finish beautifully showcasing the elegance and complexity achievable in Rhone reds. Can be enjoyed now or laid down for many years to come.
The Review: Decanter - 94 Points "Fresh, stemmy oregano and marked blackcurrant notes. A fine and elegant style of Cornas with quite driving acidity. Bright, saline and granitic finish. Very accessible, this is a clear depiction of the vintage and the terroir. From some of the finest lieux-dits on the Cornas slope. No destemming."
