Region: Margaret River, WA
Grape: Shiraz, Merlot, Tempranillo
First glance: Dry, bright and elegant rosé
At Deep Woods they take their dry rosé very seriously, and have come up with an inventive blend of grapes, which carefully compliment each other in terms of both flavour and structure. This ensures a complex and serious rosé.
Grapes are carefully kept intact until delicate pressing at the winery, where every effort is made to protect the must from oxygen, to ensure a smooth and delicate end result. A brief contact with the fine lees is allowed for a little added texture.
The Review:
The 2021 Harmony carries on a long tradition of tasty, attractive rosés, cementing Deep Woods in the rosé hall of fame. That may be going a little far, but it's a very good – and very good value – rosé. The intensity of flavour here is impressive.
