The Wine:
You may recognise this name from another famous Adelaide Hills winemaker, and yes this wine comes from the same vineyard. Where the aformentioned other wine is made in a delicate, perfumed style of Pinot Noir, DC Shaw takes cues from his experience working with Jean Marc Pillot in Burgundy, delivering a ripe and rambunctious Pinot more in line with Pommard than Lenswood.
Red cherry, black plum, porccini mushroom and baking spices are wrapped around fine yet firm tannins and fresh juicy acidity to deliver a Pinot of impact and heft. One of the cellar for sure!
