Cynar is a bitter liqueur known for its versatility and taste, deriving its name from the botanical name for artichoke—Cynar scolymus. It is pronounced "chee-NAR" and although the name comes from artichoke, the majority of the flavour comes from the 12 other botanicals used in its production.
