The Wine:
The Braemore Vineyard, planted in 1969, is situated on the sandy alluvial flats of Hermitage Road, Pokolbin. The old vines are rooted in a strip of land that was once an ancient sea floor where the deep, free-draining and sandy loam soils allow deep root penetration. Situated between two dry creeks, Thomas refers to this ribbon of soil as a Grand Cru site for Hunter Semillon. In particular, Braemore is universally considered to produce some of the most iconic examples of classic Hunter Valley Semillon. The site delivers Semillon of rare intensity: a wine that shows youthful generosity yet ages with remarkable grace and longevity.

Opening with a musky, exotic nose - this wine is inherently enticing and complex. The palate is chalky, with bursts of lemon and honeydew, along with succulent acid and an concentrated finish. Will age for many, many years to come.
