Region: Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence, France
Grapes: Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault
First Glance: Dangerously drinkable, classic Provence rose
Acclaim: Gold Medal - IWC
From the higher altitude Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence region sitting at 420 masl, which effortlessly provides bright, fresh and palatable roses from the classic Provence varietal make-up. 60 year old Grenache vines provide the backbone for this high-grade rose, and with the recently overhauled winery with new state of the art equipment, the wines are fresh as morning dew, and have never looked better!
Aix Rose is easily our biggest selling rose and it is easy to see why; brilliant light salmon in colour, watermelon, strawberry and other red berries on the palate, with plenty of richness and pleasing acidity on the finish.
The Review:
International Wine Challenge 2021, Gilbert & Gaillard
"AIX Rosé has won a gold medal from French's famous wine guide 'Gilbert & Gaillard': Pale salmon-pink. Floral nose backed by sweet spices and fruits in syrup (peach, wild strawberry). Gratifying palate with crisp freshness and fleshy fruit followed by a spicy finish. A supple, energetic and very thirst-quenching style for a festive tapas evening.'
