The Wine:
Fan favourite, the Prêt-à-Rouge has always intended to communicate something of the intrinsic nature of Beechworth’s recognised red wine structure, in an accessible, earlier drinking frame. VS&B have always worked hard to over-deliver on succulence and approachability whilst still boasting classic Beechworth structure and savoury length in this wine.
This is a blend of Beechworth Shiraz (50%), Pinot Noir (40%), and Sangiovese (10%) from vineyards under uncertified organic management. 2022 was a cooler, and wetter vintage from the previous few, so this wine is delicate, and a little subdued. Layers of red-fruited enjoyment, savoury complexity and satisfying structure to length. Think macerated strawberry, blueberry, cherry, and a crinkle of oregano herbage.
