The Wine:
Triennes is a 46-hectare Mediterranean estate acquired In 1989 by Jacques Seysses of Domaine Dujac, Aubert de Villaine of Domaine de la Romanée Conti, and their Parisian friend, Michel Macaux. Located in the Var due east of Aix-en-Provence, the hillside property has been thoroughly upgraded. The vineyard is now farmed organically and was renamed “Triennes,” a reference to Triennia, the festival for Bacchus. This Rosé, a blend of Cinsault, Syrah, Grenache, and Merlot, is everything you would expect from Provence and more. Light salmon in color, with an aroma of fresh strawberries and watermelon, it is lively and refreshing on the plate with lush berry flavors. Not a lightweight, but simply a delicious Rosé with enough richness to enjoy with lunch or by the pool.
