The Wine:
This Chardonnay from the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, gets an exemplary dash of Pinot Blanc, adding a lovely juicy feel. Balanced by fine new oak, while offering creamy richness offset by cooling limestone minerality.
Notes of white currant, chamomile, pressed daisies and cinnamon waft from the glass. The palate is dry and full, with beautiful density of fruit leaning on the plum spectrum of fruits, and savoury elements like consomme or sake delivering a harmonious and complex white burgundy. For the price, it's hard to say no!
