A family-led winery in the Willunga foothills of McLaren Vale, strongly focused on sustainability throughout the entire operation, Hedonist is not just a staple of the Best Cellars range, but likewise a sure-fire value option for those who like deftly crafted, easy-to-drink and varietally expressive wines. The team in the cellar is Walter Clappis, a veteran winemaker of 36 vintages, daughter, Kimberly and her partner James Cooter. All of the Hedonist wines are made with certified organic and biodynamic fruit, with biodynamic preparations and organic compost made on-site. The range focusses on accessible and skilfully made varietal expressions, tweaked with subtle technique to bring out the best qualities in each. Vegan friendly.
Sourced from three sites in Mclaren Vale; two separate parcels of Sangiovese from the Seaview district, ‘Beautiful View’ and a touch of our estate grown Cabernet from the Willunga Foothills. Certified organic.
The Wine
Pale salmon with pink hues. Strawberries, peaches, rosehip and musk with some floral notes.
Refined and elegant, but with some texture and interest. Classic strawberries and cream on the palate with some persistent tart strawberry acidity and a touch of grip, building a moreish and creamy mouthfeel.
