The Wine
The 2021 Wilyabrup Valley Chardonnay is bright, pale gold in colour. Shy at first, it soon opens up with aromas of yellow flesh peach, apricot and nectarine.
The palate delivers a broad powerful array of ripe orchard fruits, combined with elderflower and grilled cashews. Its weight is finely balanced with crispy, citrusy acidity.

"Creamy and nutty, this is driven by acid, as many Margaret River white wines are in 2021, but the pull of fruit and spice is such that the acid is washed back into the shores of flavour and texture. Satisfying for the money, but I'd certainly recommend waiting a year (decanting it at least) to help fastrack the inevitable integration of all components of this wine."
