First Glance: Spicy, Pithy, Textural
100% Pinot Gris from the Long Rail Gully vineyard in Murrumbateman and the Freeman vineyard in Prunevale. Each batch of fruit was macerated and fermented on skins for 3-4 weeks in oak, concrete and ceramic. Pressed, settled and bottled. Pretty simple really.
A little more hands off this year, more skins involved and less fussing around prior to packaging. Spicy, pink grapefruit, a hint of cranberry and strawberry even. More texture from the skin contact yet still delicate and reserved.
