Region: Burgundy
Grapes: Pinot Noir
First Glance: Fresh, Aromatic, Red-Fruited, Earthy
The Wine:
A more subtle application of wood sets off the cool and super-fresh aromas of both red and dark berries, earth and more prominent sauvage hints. I very much like the texture of the medium-bodied flavors primarily thanks to the relatively fine-grained tannins supporting the suave yet tension-filled finale that offers better depth on the lingering finale. This fine Gevrey villages should repay 5 to 8 years of keeping. Tasted from Barrel, Alan Meadows – Burghound January 2023
