The Wine:
Made predominantly from Best’s own vineyards, Bin 1 Shiraz represents the essence of Best’s winemaking ideals and the uniqueness of the Great Western region. Bin 1 is a classic, cool climate, aromatic Shiraz, made in a style that is perfumed, spicy and peppery, yet well balanced. It’s a great match with food - particularly dishes like spring lamb.
Aromas of pepper, oak, liquorice, deep red fruits with a slight herbaceous stalky character. The palate is deep and earthy, with dark fruits, a long palate that is tight along the sides with the slightest hint of savoury dried herbs. While its young, it will benefit from decanting.

"This is a traditional Australian shiraz in the best sense, with a wealth of black, red and ripe orange fruit. Deep and rich, with a stunningly fine tannin structure and a lovely blood orange freshness at the long, structured and spicy finish. Excellent aging potential."
