The third mezcal in the Clase Azul family - made with green agave, a plant native to the deserts in the state of San Luis Potosí. Full and rich on the nose with notes of green chile, cooked agave and sweet fruit, the palate offers caramel, lime zest and clove with a spiced finish. As usual with Clase Azul, the spirit with housed in a stunning decanter.
Clase Azul is primarily a tequila company, but they also release mezcal. Their first mezcal release was made in the state of Durango where the extreme climate, the rich minerals of its soil, and the source of natural springs in the area, give particular force and complexity to its notes, making it a different mezcal than what is produced elsewhere Mexico. Their second release comes from the state of Guerrero. Both are packaged in tall and ornate ceramic bottles.
