Region: Adelaide Hills, SA
Grape: Shiraz
First Glance: Medium-bodied, restrained and refined
Acclaim: 96 points

Adelaide Hills was not always considered a region suitable for quality Shiraz, but the first bottling of this wine in 2002, changed that perception for good. Over the years a few things have been dialed in, like the increased amount of whole bunch / whole berry utilised in the fermentation, for added brightness and definition, and the reduced percentage of new oak.

A real calling card for the estate itself, as well as for the region, this has become a bit of a modern Aussie classic, and delivers great value and typicity.

The Review:
98 points, David Sly, Decanter
Beware the siren with the ruby-red lips. In a smoky room, here she strides  - confident, cool, arresting. Slender, stalky cherry and a smear of blackcurrant bite, spiked with crushed peppercorns. No sunny smiles here, this is deadly serious. Leaner, finer and taut, it marks a big stride ahead from previous vintages. This vision of cool-climate shiraz marks a new age of measured sophistication.
