Michael hall was originally in the business of valuating jewellery, working in his native London and in Switzerland. Wine had always been a passion, and at 40, Michael uprooted his life and career, and moved to Australia to pursue winemaking. A wine science degree later, and following a number of years working for iconic top producers both here and abroad in Burgundy and the Rhone valley, Michael now focuses entirely on his eponymous label.

Fruit from a vineyard in Greenock. Hand picked on 24th February, pressed and wild yeast fermented. Matured on lees for nine months in tank and barrel (Damy, 33% new oak). Fined, filtered and bottled.

The review:
92 points, Mike Bennie, The Wine Front
It’s rich and round, soft and appealing. A fuller figured white wine but with requisite cut and thrust of acidity and cool, herbal elements lifting things. Scents and flavours of lemon verbena, quince, faint white mushroom and a little ginger. Slippery in the palate, fleshy, albeit that underlying lift comes with salinity, lemon juice freshness and a tingle of something flinty and minerally. Works a treat.
