The Wine:
This wine is made from two different vineyards located at the foot of the Andes Mountains. 50% comes from La Encerrada Estate, Gualtallary 1450 masl planted on limestones soil and 50% from Estancia La Carrera at 1700 masl planted on sandy soils supported by an underground of gravel and boulder. After a skin maceration of 3 days at a low temperature, the must goes to French oak barrels of different uses. The fermentation is done with wild yeasts. Aging continues in the same barrels during 8 months.

The Review:
Heiner Lobenberg, Gute Weine - 96pts
"This Chardonnay is a blend of two sites, Finca la Encerrada which stands at 1,450 meters on pure limestone soils in Gualtallary and Finca Maria Bombal at 1,700 meters on sandy loam. Medium lemon yellow. The nose is ultra-precise, fine, smoky mineral and yellow fruit interwoven with subtle vanilla aromas and floating white flowers. A Chassagne-Montrachet?!!? This is also Riccitelli's creamiest wine in the mouth, with all the fruit flavors hanging off its lean salinity. Nashi pear, lemon zest, wild herbs, coriander, freshly crushed rock flour. Wow, there is an incredible amount of polish going on here and the wine pushes and pushes with its saline precision and balanced ultra clear fruit. A phenomenal discovery!"
