Domaine Du Comte Liger-Belair Vosne Romanee 2009

$1,995.00

Region: Vosne-Romanée, Burgundy, France
Grapes: Pinot Noir

Musky aromas of raspberry, strawberry, tobacco and game. Sweet, sappy and nicely high-toned, with a very ripe character and a high-pH mouthfeel that Liger-Belair says is due to the warmer clos and the clones. Finishes suave, pliant and nicely long, with dusty, chewy tannins and a subtle sweetness.

"This is both very fresh and very Vosne in basic character with a highly floral and spiced nose that offers up notes of anise, clove and hoisin on the plum and blue berry fruit aromas. The palate impression is one of round and suave yet well-delineated medium-bodied flavors that possess a lovely sense of underlying tension on the sappy finish. This is a bit more firmly structured and should also be well worth considering as it is an excellent villages” Burghound

"Pale-ish ruby. Very sweet and luscious. Something almost beetrooty on the nose. Sweet and sour, very seductive, gorgeous already."
