A glorious example of Grenache. The Old Vine Grenache fruit comes off our 1946 bush vines making the cost to produce this wine substantial. As a result, there is a significant price increase with the 2020 vintage after the last three vintages sold through in a 12 month period. The quality of this wine each year is incredible and even with the price rise, this wine offers amazing value.
The smallest vintage to date, the 2020 vintage yielded roughly a quarter of what we normally produce for Grenache and we will be sold out until the next release in June 2022. Medium ruby core, bright ruby into the rim. Raspberries, violets and dried thyme aromas. Medium-bodied but sits light and lithe. Red fruits, dry herbs and sandstone flavours are layered throughout. Sandy tannins are distinct but not without reason. There’s an underlying power here that speaks of serious intent in the vineyard and winery. It lingers for days. 93 Points The Real Review
