The Wine:
Vibrant ruby red, Striking red fruit aromas open to star anise, dried herbs and soft rose petal. A touch of warm candle wax and white strawberry compote add a little opulence to the Grenache archetype. A depth of umami (savoury) flavour and warm spices are enveloped in creamy red fruits. Fine, green tea-like tannin add direction and presence to the palate.
The Review:
Ned Goodwin MW, jamessuckling.com - 93pts
"Very good, medium-bodied grenache, suggestive of a cooler, attenuated La Niña vintage. The tannins are long and refined, accentuated by a lower pH. Notes of Damson plums, rich strawberries, shrubs, licorice root and dried thyme. The finish is impressively persistent and refined. Excellent drinking."
