Fermented separately, Pinot from TAT home block (27 yo MV6 clone) and Gamay from Brooklands vineyard (Beaujolais clone) 100% whole bunch fermented; seasoned, large format oak maturation.
Aromas of ripe strawberry, smokey mezcal, orange peel, peanut shell, beetroot and five spice. Ripe strawberry, blood plum and savoury, earthy flavours on the palate with lovely grainy tannins and a bright, detailed finish.
The Review:
Philip Rich, Halliday Wine Companion - 94pts
"65/35% gamay/pinot noir; the parcels are fermented separately with the gamay made with 100% whole bunches and the pinot with 25% whole bunches. A light crimson purple. An uber-fragrant bouquet featuring red summer fruits, floral notes, tobacco leaf and a little Dashi soy! Gently fleshy, flavoursome and long. A delicious wine to drink now and over the next 2–3 years."
