Gamay from the organic "Monts du Lyonnais" Orlienas vineyard close to Lyon. The Syrah is from the Ardèche. Soil is limestone over clay, the Vines arean average of 15 years for the Gamay and 60 years for the Syrah. 85% Gamay and 15% Syrah, whole cluster and natural fermentation with natural yeasts, 8 days full carbonic maceration. Aged for 10 months in old neutral 400L and 650L oak barrels

Joyous! Far more interesting and more complex than it seems at first, super delicious in fact. Much like a good Pinot/Syrah blend, it feels like this blend amplifies each variety, more-so than neutralizing them. It's all plump and juicy dark red fruits, round soft edges, the Syrah brings adds earth and spice complexity. Very hard to put the glass down, unless it is empty! It pairs well with many things (Charcuterie) but it is really best with good friends and a banging playlist... Yum!
