“This tiny winery, tucked away in a sleepy corner of North Canterbury, has always had a range of wines from purchased fruit, in addition to the several Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs produced from the estate vineyard. Established by Mike and Claudia Weersing, it's now owned by the Smith and Sheth partnership,
with Huw Kinch (formerly Larry McKenna's assistant winemaker at Escarpment) installed as the onsite general manager/winemaker. Of the current releases, the single-plot Chardonnays from 2019 are the standouts.” – Joe Czerwinski

Slightly floral and stemmy, yet loaded with ripe black cherries as well, the 2019 North Canterbury Pinot Noir is an intriguing effort. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and appealing, firmly structured, with a long, dusty finish,
it appears to be capable of at least six years of positive evolution. Rated : 90+ Points Joe Czerwinski - Robert Parker Wine Advocate
