A Grenache Shiraz blend comprising 62% Marmont Vineyard Grenache, 38% Springs Hill Vineyard Shiraz.
A combination of varieties that is quintessentially McLaren Vale, an homage to past employers who have proudly championed blends of Grenache and Shiraz for decades.
A barrel selection blend of our two single vineyard wines. The Grenache and Shiraz components were made separately and come blending for this wine we were looking for a wine that offered generosity, freshness of the varieties but also a drive of subtle tannin; a natural life line of preservation.
Beautiful, graceful opening of red to black primary fruits. Notes of black raspberry, liquorice, pepper, charcuterie, satsuma plum, graphite and Danish cocoa. Generous palate throughout, lush plum and lavender laced fruits fill this wine with generosity, with a coil of tannin that sets the drive of this wine up for a long delivery.
"Red and black fruit, grilled meat and herbs, Dutch liquorice. Bold fleshy style, dark chocolate and spice, cocoa tannin, a little saline and beefy, but generous in flavour and oomph. Ripe blackberry, blood plum, juicy acidity, and a finish of solid length. Hearty traditional fare, and good in that way."
