Aged for 15 months in French oak barriques, around 25-30% of which were new.  Lifted, quite pretty aromas of red berry and cranberry, fresh herbs, minerals and sage.  The wine is quite powerful, even dense (a relativity for Mount Mary Pinot Noir) with an impressive core of bright red berry fruits.  Quite savoury and very fine on the palate, near-invisible tannins they’re so refined and silken, and a lovely refreshing lick of citric acidity.  Finishes very, very long, with gentle waves of complexity gradually building on the aftertaste.  The lingering impression is one of mineral-laden tannins and sweet, gentle red berries.  A beautiful wine that builds over time (this was tasted over eight hours).  93+ points, drink 2020 to 2030.  (October 2017)
