“Earnest Luke Lambert. A gifted and quietly confident winemaker, yet so humble and unassuming. Probably his own harshest critic, I’d guess. Sweet cherry, redcurrant, a subtle earthy autumnal thing happening, musk and rose, suede leather and spice. It’s medium-bodied, earthy and perfumed, beautiful density of fine grained tannin, cool acidity, and a very long finish of rosy red fruits, and again that quiet umami mushroom earthiness trailing. This is right up there for quality. A magnificent expression of Nebbiolo. For Luke, I feel it’s the strongest release since the 2012.”

95 Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front

“The Nebbiolo block sits half way up Denton’s North Western slope, catching all available sunshine hours. The granitic sand over granite boulders and long, slow growing season provide a very special and unique terroir. This unique micro-climate and soil profile contribute lots of bright, fresh red fruit, red flower perfume, and fine tannin on an acid frame.” LL

“Fully destemmed, wild yeast fermented and held on skins for 18 days with frequent plunging and foot stomping. No temperature control. Pressed to a single Slavonian foudre—2017 was a very low-cropping vintage for this vineyard—and left unsulphured for 18 months prior to bottling without fining or filtration.” LL
