The Florita Vineyard at Watervale is a Clare Valley jewel, long the source of some of the region's finest Riesling. This wine speaks to the remarkable Riesling legacy of the Florida site. The Barrys have created a Riesling (first vintage 2004) worthy of Florita’s name and heritage. Purity in a glass, citrus and stone fruit sing from the Florida. Intense on the nose with a nip of fruit sweetness.
"Interesting tasting this next to the Clos Clare of the same vintage. Quite different in style, though they do share similar flavours. Clos Clare is a five acre parcel of the Florita Vineyard, planted in the 1940s, this comes from the larger section of the famous site in Watervale.
Lime, white peach, citrus blossom and crisp pear. It’s pale, dry and crunchy, with lovely clean acidity, straight lines and a long dry finish. Nice pure style here. All flint and finesse. Really runs long and very limey." 94+ Pts, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
