Dubreuil Fontaine Corton Clos de Roi Grand Cru 2020

| /

Region: Burgundy
Grapes: Pinot Noir
First Glance: Powerful, Muscular, Age-worthy, Dark Fruited
Acclaim: 93-95pts

The Wine:
100% destemmed, traditional vinification in thermoregulated stainless steel vats. Vatting of 15 days. Matured for 12 to 15 months partially in oak barrels, 30% new, as well as stainless steel tanks.

Bouquet of red and dark berries, as well as hints of warm earth and humus. Full bodied, generous and powerful, concentrated flavors of blackberry and bilberry. Light saline and sappy notes. Very persistent finish.

The Review:
Vinous - 93-95pts
"The 2020 Corton Clos-du-Roi Grand Cru has the most transparency on the nose between the Domaine’s three Corton Rouges, very well defined with real mineralité flooding through. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, plenty of brambly red fruit, natural and easygoing in style, though that belies the considerable persistency on the finish. Excellent."
