The Wine:
Roumier and Barthod are the major players in this small 1er Cru in the heart of Chambolle, just east of the village between the 1er Crus of Les Chatelots and Aux Beaux Bruns. Like Chatelots and CharmesAux Combottes is situated on the silt-rich alluvial fan of the Combe de Chambolle and is, therefore, more accessible when young compared to the more structured wines produced by Barthod in the Crus to the north of the village. Barthod farms 0.18 hectares, yielding just two barrels in a good year.

The Review:
Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy - 89-92pts
"One of the paler colours with a light, elegant bouquet, floral Chambolle. An interesting coffee and even chocolate note at the back, after a light mouthful of pretty fruit."
