Barrell tasting: All the Volnay cuvées had gone through their malolactic fermentation at the time of tasting, and this cuvée was harder to judge than most. It was in fact the first to be picked as the grapes had ripened very well in their respective vineyards. Bright purple in colour, the nose has some post-malolactic green apple notes. There is also lively raspberry fruit, excellent intensity, but the overall composition of the wine is a little bit hard to judge.
