Region: Bourgogne, France
Grape: Pinot Noir
First glance: Fine boned, elegant Bourgogne Rouge
The domaine's entry level cuvee, this rouge is blended from 7 plots surrounding the home commune of Savigny-les-Beaune. Gentle extraction, mature vine material and low yields are the practices here, across the range. The aim for sisters Caroline and Juliette is to make wines true to the historically lighter style of the commune.
The Best Cellars View:
Bright and fine in style, the warmer but well balanced 2019 vintage suits the house style well, adding depth of ripe fruit to the elegantly minded wines. Plenty of juicy red cherry fruit, a little fresh strawberry in the mix and a fine line of subtly earthy complexity completes the wine.
