Courselle Le Petit Courselle Les Copines Ssbchard 2020

From a pair of sisters in Bordeaux defying the norm with charismatic labels, organic farming and natural winemaking. Minimal intervention is the calling card, the wines expressive, charismatic and the opposite of button down examples that define the region. They are fun, frisky things to drink. Oh, and they planted chardonnay, so that finds its way into this semillon, sauvignon blanc blend.
This is nice wine, relatively simple but hits all the pleasure receptors with ease. Fragrant with quince, light pineapple and citrus scents with flavours that sit more in the green apple, real lemonade and refreshing tropical fruit spectrum with licks of green herbs in the mix. Despite that flavour spectrum, it’s way more about the skinsy chew and light pucker to close, a textural expression that feels out of the norm for the region, and a delight in the glass. Mike Bennie Winefront, Rated : 91 Points, Alcohol : 12.5%, Closure : Cork, Drink : 2021 - 2022
