The Wine :
Fruit sourced from a single vineyard in Echunga in the Adelaide Hills. Hand-picked and lightly pressed straight to barrel sans sulphur, the juice was allowed to ferment naturally in french oak barrels (about 25% new) and two ceramic eggs for about ten months. The 2019 vintage was a very light yielding one for Chardonnay in the Adelaide Hills, with crops up to 50% down in areas of the Rathmine vineyard. The resulting wine is a beautifully balanced yet powerful version with intensity of fruit flavours.

”Hand-picked from a single vineyard, 405 dozen made. A complex wine, but there's no suggestion of its fruit being compromised by winemaker's thumbprints. It has perfect balance and a freshness to the white peach, melon and grapefruit flavours. The finish and aftertaste are the high points of a high class wine."
