"Vines over 100 years of age. Raised in neutral oak. 1,008 bottles made, from a year that produced not a lot of grapes. Tight, dense, iodine, mint and earthiness, with deep red and black fruit, and a compact ferrous feel. It’s concentrated, slate and shale quality to tannin, almost a sticky gummy feel, a bit of raspberry juiciness, toasted hazelnut and sweep of sooty tannin to close. Superb, inky, saline and savoury expression of old vine Clare Shiraz here."
