Sourced from our mates Marco and Gina’s plot in the King Valley, here’s an homage to the great skin-contact amber wines of Italy’s northern Friuli pocket. Read: plenty of spice, drive and structure. The berries were destemmed and fermented on their skins for 21 days, with daily plunging, then gently pressed to old barriques for full malolactic fermentation. Unfurling with lovely aromas of white pepper, peach skin, orange peel and fresh alpine herbs, it’s a layered, savoury expression that’s framed by bright acids and fine, grippy tannins.
