Wine from several plots in the village appellation whose very diverse geography, soil type and exposure make it a wine of good complexity.
This wine, with a pretty color, presents an aromatic nose predominated by fruity notes specific to Savigny. Subtly balanced, the fine mouth is marked by a dominance of red fruits.
‘More supple part. Rich dark purple. Very juicy, but also pure clean ripe raspberry. This has substantial density without losing classic pinot flavour, and good length. Another component tasted separately supplied a more robust character.’ 88-90 points, Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy June 2020
‘A slightly more elegant nose displays notes of plum, red and dark currant and plenty of Savigny style earth. Here too the lighter weight flavors possess a caressing mouthfeel that contrasts somewhat with the mildly austere and lingering finale. This is sufficiently structured to repay a few years of keeping.’ 87-89 points, Allen Meadow’s Burghound April 2021
