Luke Lambert Crudo Rose 2021

| /

Complex, seductive yet vibrant and lip-smackingly delicious—that pretty much sums up Luke Lambert's Crudo Rosé. After a brief hiatus, this year's wine is 100% Syrah. The fruit was picked early and whole-bunch pressed before the cloudy juice was sent to tank for wild ferment and wild malo before storage in 4,000-litre French oak foudre. Bottled, as usual, without filtration and with minimal sulphur. The result is a beautifully savoury expression that is a “…similar wine to the 2019,” according to straight-to-the-point Luke, perhaps with greater subtlety and perfume thanks to the excellent long and slow growing season. It's an incredibly moreish rosé with talc, river stone and a wild strawberry lift. Cracking value.
