The Wine:
Working closely with his father under the eponymous label, Pierre-Marie Chermette, join us as Jean Etienne branches out to produce his own terroir driven wines out of Southern-Beaujolais. Jean's family history dates back to the 17th century, he benefits from traditional know-how while leveraging modern winemaking techniques to make wines that outshine many of the supposedly nobler crus.

This wine comes from granite that is unique to Saint-Vérand called plagiogranite (similar to blue granite in Cote de Brouilly). This is fresh Viognier, touting beautiful aromatic complexity, roundness and a balanced acidity. Fresh and fruity apricot, pear, cherry plum, lychee and vine peach. One the palate features rich, supple grapefruit and white peach aromas steadfast acidity. Grown on dark granite and hand harvested. Direct pressing, slow alcoholic fermentation (3 weeks) at a low temperature 16°C in stainless steel tanks. 6 months in stainless steel tanks and 13 % in acacia barrels.
