Michael Downer took over operations at his family estate in 2012, after having gathered precious experience working for big names in the industry, such as Shaw & Smith, Vietti in Barolo and Best’s Great Western. This reinvigoration of both viticulture and winemaking practices, has put Murdoch Hill firmly back on the radar of top producers in the Hills.

The estate Sav Blanc stems from 3 blocks of estate-owned fruit, all picked individually at optimum ripeness. Most of the musts were fermented in tank, with 10% set off for barrel fermentation, to add a little weight and texture on the palate.

Attractive snow pea and fine green bean aromas with a whole garden of fresh herbs, this is an elegant sauvignon blanc with a lovely balance of fruit, medium body and polished acidity on the well-crafted and precise palate. Long clean finish with some wet stone minerality. Drink now. Screw cap.
